We're not all jetting off to white sands and palm trees this Summer but a holiday is a holiday, and a holiday deserves a holiday wardrobe, whether it be in St Tropez or Skegness.

Shopping for occasionwear when you're plus size can seem HARD my friends. I can't tell you the number of times I've trawled the internet looking for a frock that's even the right length and fit, before even considering whether it's going to be chic enough for the wedding of the century. Thankfully, Simply Be are upping their game this year to make being the best dressed guest much simpler.

[For full transparency, I was paid to share Instagram content from the following event. However, this post is done of my own accord and contains my own opinions. Images contain gifted items]

I was recently extremely fortunate to be invited to the Simply Be "Ahead Of The Curve" panel. An amazing event discussing body acceptance, personal style and digital health with a breathtaking panel made up of Lauren Mahon, Felicity Hayward, our host the incredible Gemma Cairney (I made a total tit of myself with Gemma because I simply cannot be normal), Annie Price, Hayley Hasselhoff and Billie Bhatia

Style | Bring On The Self Love With Simply Be

[This post is an AD in collaboration with Simply Be and contains gifted items]

HOW IS IT NEARLY VALENTINES DAY AGAIN?!? The day of romance, chocolates and (in my case) sausage, chips and beans at Morrisons. Something I've learnt about love and romance and all that jazz is that there is utterly no point whatsoever in expecting to be happy in a relationship if you're not happy with yourself.

So much of what makes me happy now is not having a reliance on other peoples' opinions of me. Of how I look or how much they value my existence. I like who I am, and even on my worst days I know that I'm doing my best.

Simply Be - The Curve Catwalk and LFW

I'm sorry this is going to be a bit of a round up post but it's mega picture heavy so you can have a good old peruse rather than a read if you so choose (read the words though eh, they took me a while to write. It's only nice)

You may remember that earlier in the year, Simply Be sent Steph and me to London for a London Fashion Week Tall Girl Takeover. For some unbeknown reason, they asked us again which was very lucky because we love them and also we love each other so it worked out beautifully.

Summer Holiday Swimwear - Simply Be

This is the second in my Summer Holiday Swimwear Series and today I have my top picks from Simply Be, who are all about poolside glamour this year - with bold prints and cutout detailing, I was spoilt for choice.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk
Longer Length Magisculpt Swimsuit - Simply Be
I spotted this swimsuit at a recent Simply Be event and was immediately VERY into the colour -  IT'S JUST SO AB FAB. This is the kind of swimsuit that you would wear to a spa. When I say spa I mean bar by a swimming pool. Which is exactly what I did... I also have matching lipstick. Which I wore with it. Because I am just. that. glam.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

The longer length makes it utterly perfect for my height. I have to confess that I was put off by it being shape wear - I assumed it would be a bit too thick for the poolside and I'd end up sweating my tits right off. Luckily this wasn't the case at all - The magisculpt lining does mean that the suit is hard work to pull up (and down if you're in a rush for a wee . Which I always am) but it is otherwise spot on.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk
String Tie Bikini Set - Simply Be

The cutout detail of this string bikini is the kind of thing you see so rarely in plus sizes and I LOVE IT. Let me be honest, you won't be running any marathons in this top - The support is pretty non-existent despite the foam cups and silicone tape (The sticky stuff that holds it in place) but it's ideal for lounging about and is mega comfortable.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

Obvious words of advice - Watch your tan lines with this one. It's actually really good for pulling the straps down on so I managed to avoid any issues but I really don't know how you'd cover up these lines... Maybe go topless? I don't know, it's up to you. Be your own sexy self.

Isn't it amazing how quickly you slip out of the holiday mode...? At least I can keep it going on the blog with one more bikini post after this!

Spring Is Blooming...?

This is just a quick post to stop by, say Hi and share in some extreme confusion around what the heck the weather's doing.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk
Dress - Primark (Similar)
Sandals - Simply Be
When I took these pictures it was hot. Hence me wearing a floaty dress covered in flowers. Right now it is snowing. Hence me wearing my pyjamas.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

Midi dresses are the way forward for me right now, the proportions seem to work well with my figure and they look great with trainers, sandals and ankle boots alike

The dress is from Primark so I can't link directly to it but Simply Be have a similar one here. The sandals are also Simply Be, I have them in three colours and they're SO comfortable it's ridiculous.

I'll be back with a longer post at the weekend but, until then, I hope the weather starts to perk up a bit where you are.

Summer Casual With Navabi

I recently asked people on my Instagram page what they would like to see more of on this blog. In and amongst the "boobies", "bottoms" and "NOTHING" came the resounding answer of Plus size casual wear. Now I've never really seen myself as anything other than casual - Certainly not glam, but this got me thinking about what I really wear, particularly on those days when I'm just loitering about not doing much of anything. SO, with this in mind, here is my ultimate in Summer casual looks.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk
Shirt* - Marina Rinaldi Sport @ Navabi
Straight Leg Jeans - Evans
Wrap Detail Sandals - Simply Be
Tote Bag - Mango
Sunglasses - MONKI
A couple of months ago I fell in love with this printed shirt from Marina Rinaldi Sport. I watched the Navabi website like an absolute hawk for months on end to no avail. THEN THERE IT WAS. Except I had missed it and my size had been and gone. WELL DONE ME. But all was not lost! The incredible team at Navabi did some magical detective work and the next thing I know, the shirt was all mine.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

The shirt also comes in a navy but I'm a total sucker for green as you know. I'm well into the retro feel to the abstract heart print and the contrasting blue stripe detail at the edges, I've never had such a snazzy shirt. The side splits make it easy to wear either tucked in or loose meaning that so far, I've been able to wear it under a pinafore for work as well as with both black and blue jeans - It's a proper versatile high end item. As for sizing, this is the 18, a 16 would also have fit but the 18 is lovely and loose and looks SO flipping good tucked into jeans with the sleeves rolled up - Perfect for the warm weather we're having right now.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

Tan accessories are my go-to all year round. Every time I try another colour or shade of brown, I'm like NAH NOT FOR ME THANKS. This Mango tote is a bit of a lifesaver right now in that I am epically disorganised and this bag is vast enough for me to empty all of my various other bags into. This means that it's currently 95% full of garbage but at least I haven't left my purse at home for at least three weeks... The sandals are Simply Be, size 9 and remarkably comfortable meaning that I will still happily class them as casual shoes despite the heels.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

As casual looks go, this is one I love. It's cool, light, versatile but still just dressy enough to stop me breaking out in a rash....

Delightful Denim with Simply Be

A couple of weeks ago, I had a day out with my beautiful friend Steph. We drank some drinks, ate some food and attempted to take some decent pictures. Despite inadvertently dressing as each other, I think it was a successful day. Not least because Steph is an awesome woman and I had chips twice.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk
Bardot Top - Simply Be
Jeans - Simply Be
Sandals - Simply Be
We'd been sent some items from the "new in" section of Simply Be after getting involved with their London Fashion Week Instagram takeover and had both managed to go for a lil bit o' gingham. I went for this Bardot top and Steph was wearing a peplum blouse in the same fabric which I have to say, looked utterly banging. I have to be honest, I'm not certain I love gingham on myself, I prefer a bigger, bolder print. This said, with a blue denim, I think I could do a lot worse.

I'll always be a big fan of a Bardot neckline, they stop me overheating (Have I ever mentioned how sweaty I am? I'm really sweaty) but are incredibly easy to wear. This particular top is loose and light with a fabulous addition of tie details on the sleeves. I'm wearing a 16 here and it's perfect - The neckline is the ideal width, even on my broad shoulders, meaning that there is no digging in or the dreaded "hoik".

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

These sandals are fab - perfect heel height, good and sturdy and SO comfortable. I could have easily worn them all day no beef. I'm never without a pair of tan coloured sandals, they make warm weather outfits so much easier, whether it be jeans, a midi dress or tailored jumpsuit, they seem less dressy than a black sandal but more versatile than flip flops or the such (My toes are too long for such frivolities...)

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

Thank you Steph for a thrilling day despite the epic rain - Here's to many more cocktails, accidental twinning and dry pies.

Taking Floral into Autumn with Lovedrobe

I've heard of people who pack away their Summer wardrobe. Like they actually put everything they wear in the warmer months into suitcases and then get them out again the next year.
1.   Who is this organised?
2.   How do they have this much time?
3.   Why would you do this?

www.terribletumbles.co.uk
Shift dress* - Lovedrobe
Block Heel Ankle Boots* - Simply Be
Aviator Jacket - River Island (Similar)
Most of my wardrobe is incredibly versatile in that I wear it all year round; Sometimes I put a roll neck under an item, sometimes I swap a skirt for a pair of skinny jeans. More often than not, I bang on a pair of tights, ankle boots and a big old coat to keep out the cold, just as I have with this Plus Size Shift dress from Lovedrobe.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

This dress is already pretty seasonal in that it is knee length, fully lined and has a beautiful embroidery to the front and sleeves. I'm an eternal fan of navy blue but this particular dress is also available in maroon (As seen here on gorgeous Lucy) Size-wise, I opted to size up twice due to the generally small fit of Lovedrobe, actually an 18 would have been fine but I like the looser fit of it, particularly around the sleeves.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

I've been pairing the dress with my River Island aviator jacket which I invested in after getting hold of a 25% discount in October and I LOVE IT. It's so warm and the over-sizing of it means that it sits in exactly the right place and isn't at all boxy. Plus I get to look like Del Boy - What more could one want from life? I've looked online and can't see it in stock other than in black but have definitely seen it still in store so if you're interested it may be worth having a look about.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

I've also been wearing these Simply Be Ankle Boots* non-stop recently, they go with absolutely everything. If you fancy reading a bit more about them I've written the first of two Autumn guest posts for them over on the Simply Be blog - Why not have a read.

Style | A Plus Size Wedding Guest

I'm sorry that this post isn't a little more timely but sadly I somehow put the pictures in a folder on my phone I couldn't see. Don't ask. Anyway, these are a couple of outfits I've worn to weddings this year and they seemed too lovely not to share.

A Warm Weather Jumpsuit with Simply Be

ISN'T IT HOT?!?!

As such, I've been knocking about in this here Floral Jumpsuit from Simply Be, being an effortlessly cool flower queen, eating ice creams and sweating minimally wherever possible.

Plus Size Floral Jumpsuit - Simply Be
Tie Front Playsuit - Simply Be
Tan Ankle Boots - Simply Be
Tan Clutch Bag - Simply Be
Firstly: This print. Isn't it fabulous? I'm a big fan of a floral as you may have noticed in the past like a million times. I'm also very drawn towards all-in-ones in the warmer months because they're just so easy - This one has an elasticated waistband and buttons at the back, meaning that you can get out of bed, step straight into it and off you go (Sometimes I even brush my hair. Sometimes).

Plus Size Floral Jumpsuit - Simply Be

I think there's been a tendency for brands to think that a plus size jumpsuit has to be dramatically oversized, have a dropped crotch and basically be as close to a onesie as possible, I'm pleased to report that Simply Be do not prescribe to this. I sized up here - This is a size 18 and is a perfect warm weather fit (no sweaty gussets please) but otherwise the fit and style is .

Plus Size Floral Jumpsuit - Simply Be

The boots are also from Simply Be and may be a tad premature weather wise but are going to be ideal with my tights for Autumn (YES, I'm thinking about Autumn, as it is the most wonderful time of the year and frankly I'm bored of always having a hot red face right now) They're ever so terribly comfortable and I do not say this lightly, just like my face, my feet hate Summer; they like to be all folded up where nobody can see them.

Plus Size Floral Jumpsuit - Simply Be

How are you keeping cool at the moment? All advice greatly appreciated...

60s Stripes with Simply Be

Hello Everybody, if you are anything like me you'll be pretty much inside 24/7 at the moment due to the grim weather and left over festive austerity. I cant remember what the outside smells like, or how it feels to be around living things that aren't equally as miserable cats. All of this is basically me justifying why I am wearing no shoes in these pictures. Sorry. You're just lucky I've brushed my hair...

Striped Bell Sleeve dress - Simply Be
I've not invested in my wardrobe too much new of late, mainly because of the hibernation but that hasn't stopped me from online window shopping which is where I saw this fabulous Simply Be frock. I've got to be honest, I was initially unsure about parting with my cold hard cash, basically because i didn't think it would cover my arse but COVER MY ARSE IT DOES. In fact, it's a really good tall girl length - Mini but not obscene.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

A few people have commented on their sleeve dislike of this dress which i think is crackers because these sleeves are quite frankly the bomb. I'm also a big fan of the A Line shape which sits just under the bust on me (unlike on the model online, I must have long boobs), it gives a great shape without feeling too clingy and gives a fab 60s shape. I really seem to going back to my Plus Size retro roots at the moment don't I?

www.terribletumbles,co.uk

Have a fab weekend everyone - I'm going to the countryside to freeze my arse off!
I'll be back next week with shoes on. I may even be outside. HURRAH!

The Tall Girl Dream - Simply Be Floral Midi Dress

Don't panic, you've not missed a freak British heatwave; These pictures were taken in Seville where I've just been for an anniversary trip. Seville is literally the most magical place on Earth but I've been told to stop saying this because there were a lot of holiday goers there this year and my husband doesn't like to share...

www.terribletumbles.co.uk
Closet Midi Dress - Simply Be
Just a quick post to share a wonderful last minute holiday find with you:
A MIDI DRESS THAT GOES BELOW THE KNEE.
I know, I know, I've proven before that this can happen but I will never ever tire of it.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

I bought this Closet dress on a recent trip to Simply Be in Doncaster: The larger lady's shopping paradise, with the ever ravishing Becky. I was immediately drawn to the length (obviously) but the colours and floral print also rock my world hard. It's very pretty without having to be too dressy which is a win for me.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

It's a truly lovely, well made, well fitting dress. Just size down, I'm generally a 16 but this is a 12 - it's the VERY stretchy material.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

So that's it now. End of the sun. BRING ON THE ROLLNECKS!!!

I'm a #ChloeJeansGirl - Simply Be Denim

If you follow me on any of the various Social Mediums I spread myself liberally across you will be aware that February was an extremely exciting month for me.

Simply Be Denim

I, along with six other lovely bloggers, was invited by Simply Be to film for their #SBDenim campaign in Manchester. WHAT A DAY! We frolicked about, laughed, danced (badly in my case), jumped (terribly in my case) and had just a generally fab time in front of the cameras.

Simply Be denim

We also made a video each, talking about our jean of choice - I want you all to know here and now, that I have realised that turning and winking is NOT for me. It has been a tough lesson but the noise my Husband makes whenever he sees it is enough to put me off this "signature move" for life. I'm working on a casual "pow pow pow" hand signal in it's place. I'll feedback on how it's going...

I became the Chloe Jean Girl which was perfect for me as (in my humble, modest opinion...) they made my legs and bum look freaking awesome.

I'm wore a 14 on the day, I'm generally a 16 in jeans but the stretch in these meant that I made the decision to size down in order to prevent any bagging around the knees. SAYING THIS, the Chloe jeans keep their shape perfectly so I needn't have worried either way. These are the Dark indigo but I also have the Spring Blue pair which look awesome with a darker top and sandals.

At 6 foot, the long length (31") jeans were plenty long enough, even with heels So if it's tall jeans you're after: Chloe is the gal for you.

Simply Be denim

To tie in with the launch of their range, Simply Be are running a giveaway to win a pair of your favourite style, so if you're a super skinny kinda chick like me - All you have to do is tweet with the hashtag #chloejeansgirl to enter.

The day was just fabulous, Simply Be are always the most loving and supportive hosts, Charlotte and Sarah went above and beyond to make sure that the day was a success. The team at Plan Pictures were an absolute delight to be around, they're total superstars. Most importantly, as I'm sure you'll realise from the pictures, the six other ladies are the most kooky, interesting, beautiful and fun people to be around. I am very, very lucky indeed.

I must say, the support that all the ladies and I received during and after the day has been absolutely phenomenal and I can't explain how much it means, so from the bottom of my stone cold heart - Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
