Here Comes The Sun with Evans

Firstly, you may notice that Terrible Tumbles has had a little rebrand and I am now (Drumroll please)

The Em Edit.

After a friend accidentally referred to me as "Tumble Tots" I realised that maybe the time had come. The content will remain the same, I'll just be confused less with toddler group.

SO here we are: RIP Terrible Tumbles, Long live The Em Edit!
And now to the fashion... Hurray it's finally hot! I've obviously horrendously burnt myself in the garden and had to go to bed at 8pm due to a rogue WKD Blue (When will I learn...?)

Floral Dress* - Evans
Today was so hot that as soon as I left the house I was wet. Not sweaty (Or anything else body fluid-wise) wet with something meterological. Something air related. And I really wished I wasn't wearing jeans... I love the fit and flare cut of this Evans dress and how airy it subsequently is. Okay, I know I've been down on cold-shoulders in the past but I WAS wrong - Paired with heeled sandals it's an easy to wear option for a hot evening in the city or a casual day event.

Silver Sandals - Evans
I'm wearing a 16 in the dress and 9 in the sandals here. Both are slightly on the larger side so size down if you're on the cusp.

I think we've all felt insecure about some point of our body at a time in our lives and Summer totally accentuates that. Just a reminder that when the weather is hot, it's so much safer and comfortable to dress appropriately - Your body is exactly the same whether its encased in a jumper or a vest, except one is hot and sweaty and bothersome and stops you from enjoying the glorious weather and the other lets you just LIVE without fear of keeling over from sunstroke. Give it a go, see what you think.

Summer Casual With Navabi

I recently asked people on my Instagram page what they would like to see more of on this blog. In and amongst the "boobies", "bottoms" and "NOTHING" came the resounding answer of Plus size casual wear. Now I've never really seen myself as anything other than casual - Certainly not glam, but this got me thinking about what I really wear, particularly on those days when I'm just loitering about not doing much of anything. SO, with this in mind, here is my ultimate in Summer casual looks.

Straight Leg Jeans - Evans
Wrap Detail Sandals - Simply Be
Tote Bag - Mango
Sunglasses - MONKI
A couple of months ago I fell in love with this printed shirt from Marina Rinaldi Sport. I watched the Navabi website like an absolute hawk for months on end to no avail. THEN THERE IT WAS. Except I had missed it and my size had been and gone. WELL DONE ME. But all was not lost! The incredible team at Navabi did some magical detective work and the next thing I know, the shirt was all mine.

The shirt also comes in a navy but I'm a total sucker for green as you know. I'm well into the retro feel to the abstract heart print and the contrasting blue stripe detail at the edges, I've never had such a snazzy shirt. The side splits make it easy to wear either tucked in or loose meaning that so far, I've been able to wear it under a pinafore for work as well as with both black and blue jeans - It's a proper versatile high end item. As for sizing, this is the 18, a 16 would also have fit but the 18 is lovely and loose and looks SO flipping good tucked into jeans with the sleeves rolled up - Perfect for the warm weather we're having right now.

Tan accessories are my go-to all year round. Every time I try another colour or shade of brown, I'm like NAH NOT FOR ME THANKS. This Mango tote is a bit of a lifesaver right now in that I am epically disorganised and this bag is vast enough for me to empty all of my various other bags into. This means that it's currently 95% full of garbage but at least I haven't left my purse at home for at least three weeks... The sandals are Simply Be, size 9 and remarkably comfortable meaning that I will still happily class them as casual shoes despite the heels.

As casual looks go, this is one I love. It's cool, light, versatile but still just dressy enough to stop me breaking out in a rash....

Caped Crusader - The Evans Plus Size cape dress

Hello.
It's me.
I was wondering if after all this time you'd like to look at some pictures of me in a rather nice caped dress?

Black Cape Chiffon Dress* - Evans (Now in the sale!)
Tights* - Evans
Ankle Boots - New Look
I'm not going to waste internet space writing about where I've been of late for the following reasons: 1. It's boring, 2. We need to save space on the internet for pictures of pandas in the snow and Javier Bardem with his shirt off. So lets get straight into it;

Before Christmas Evans got in touch and asked if I'd be interested in reviewing an outfit for them. I decided that as it was a gift I'd go for something completely different from usual - Hence the Black Cape Chiffon Dress*.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

The dress is fully lined with a chiffon overlay, keyhole neckline and and the piece de rĂ©sistance; A fabulous chiffon cape.

If you don't love a cape you're basically a baddie. Capes make everything more exciting - Can you remember fastening the top button of your coat and running around the playground shouting "dinner dinner dinner dinner, dinner dinner dinner dinner BATMAAAN"? Well I can and this is almost exactly the same only slightly more acceptable at the age of 31.

I really like where this dress sits on me - the length is the perfect "short" on me, I really like how it fits (I'm in a 16 which is very true to size) and I really like that it's not like anything else I own - Not one of my existing dresses has a cape which I've never previously been disappointed by. Now I am.

I have the dress dressed down here with leather ankle boots because I was going to a birthday party and needed to be not only *comfortable* but also a bit swishy so that i could swish about and be one of life's winners. Saying this, I can imagine it with chunky heeled sandals for a city break when the weather bucks its ideas up.

This dress is currently in the sale and if you're a kooky kitten like me there's also a stunning embellished version which is really tickling all my vintage senses,

I'm not just popping in for a sporadic blog here, unless something out of my control happens (Alien abduction / I finally contract salmonella from my husband who is 95% chicken nugget) I thoroughly intend to post regularly from hereon in. I have some corking outfits from Live Unlimited, Navabi and Biba to name a few so, frankly, it would be rude not to.
