#SwimStories with Curvy Kate

www.terribletumbles,co,uk

Last month, the wonderful team from Curvy Kate swept me off to the swanky Chelsea Harbour Hotel in London in order to get a sneak peak of their first ever Autumn/Winter bikini range.

www.terribletumbles,co,uk

We spent the morning in the Blue Harbour Spa with its sauna, steam room and what I imagine to be usually peaceful serenity pool (when it's not full of bloggers and CK girls pretending to be mermaids and leaving bum prints on the wall...) We were then given an incredible hand massage - I hold a LOT of tension in my forearms allegedly, it's all the activities I do. I honestly left feeling like I could quite happily be a rich person for a day or two without feeling too bad about it.

www.terribletumbles,co,uk

After some extreme splashing, ducking and heavy petting, we were fed and watered on the stunning terrace, overlooking the harbour and a plethora of probably really inexpensive yachts...

Seriously, the Chelsea Harbour hotel is A-MAZING. I have NEVER been anywhere so smart (Not even the Hull Campamile is at this level). The decor is breathtaking, the staff are wonderful and the service is utterly flawless. We even had a tour of one of the penthouse apartments which had to be seen to be believed.

FOOD. There was also big food made small in the form of mini burgers which I didn't photo because I was dagnamn eating it.

On the day, I wore the Plain Sailing underwired, padded plunge bikini top and Plain Sailing Fold brief which I utterly adore - Keep your eyes open for a full review very shortly! There was such a range of gorgeous body shapes on the day and the range truly has something for everyone. My girl Kate looked PHENOMENAL in the tankini and skirted brief and the ever decadent Nancy killed it in glamorous monochromeSeriously, there were so many babes there looking breathtaking - If you don't believe me, take a look on the CK instagram.

Plus Sized Denim with Yours Clothing...

I've found a wall that I really like, it could do with a bit of a clean but I am definitely not heading out into the streets of Sheffield with a soapy brush when I barely even wash my own windows so I'm afraid you'll have to deal with it. If it helps at all, it's around the back of a Subways so it smells of sandwiches and sadness which may also explain why I was so drawn to it...

High waisted Jeans - Yours
Tunic Top - Yours
Nelly Sandals - Topshop
Necklace - Vintage
I know that denim is ALWAYS in fashion but it genuinely seems to be going bonkers at the moment. These gorgeous Black Stretch High Waisted Jeans With Ripped Knees are how I'm wearing my denim this year. They're high waisted which is always a win for me and the rips are SO close to being on my knees (You know my thoughts on rips - I'm always a bit scared the bottom of the jeans is going to fall off and I'll end up looking like Huckleberry Finn...) You can also get these jeans in indigo and they go up to a size 28 - I'd say that these fit on the true to big side, I'm wearing a 16 but a 14 would have also been ace due to the stretch.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

I wore the jeans with this lush sleeveless tunic which gives a nod to the 70s trend which Autumn is all about and which I am already stocking up on BECAUSE I CANNOT WAIT YO. Again, I'm wearing the 16 and it fits fabulously, if not a little snug around the ladies if ya catch my drift. I've worn it since without the belt and it looks ace with leggings and knee boots. If you're not the BFG then you could probably even wear it with tights. Without flashing your region. Unlike me.

The Nelly Sandals that i have worn to absolute death this Summer are currently in the sale in a size 8 for a bargain £30 and I really cant recommend them enough - Bigfeet of the world rejoice.

I wore this outfit for a jaunt around Sheffield which you will all get to know more about soon. Keep your peepers peeled and I can't wait to share - IT'S VERY EXCITING!!!

Introducing: Polly Grace's Tee-shirt challenge

I was recently contacted by plus size brand Polly Grace who set me the challenge of putting together a look featuring a top or tunic from their current range.

I like a challenge (I would totally be on the Crystal Maze if it was still around and if I wasn't almost certain it would kill me...) so I chose the Catalina* tunic top, partly because Catalina is the name of my smallest and most irritating cat and partly because I was taken by the bold floral print.

Catalina Tunic Top* - Polly Grace
Ripped Joni Jeans - Topshop
Block heeled sandals - Primark (Available up to a 9)
I styled the tunic with my old favourite Joni jeans from Topshop which are still going strong (despite me extending the rips on numerous occasions because I have flippers for feet and am not cool enough to wear yoof clothes without sabotaging myself and demonstrating how middle aged I am) and my bargain £7 block heel sandals from Primark, which I have picked up and put down three years running before finally giving myself a talking to.

I wore the outfit for Sunday lunch with family and other than a few comments around me "falling of my bike" (Ripped jeans are beyond my family's comprehension...) it was a winning look: Comfortable, fun and stylish.

As always, my opinion is generally "f**k flattering", however, if flattering is your style then I have to say that the dipped hem at the front and back is exactly what you need in your life. I was concerned that the double layer and cut would be a bit too busy for me but it's actually a really simple way to add a bit of interest to an outfit.

It is also ideal for all ages and body shapes - For example, my Mother in Law tried this on, she is  5ft 4, tanned, a slim size 14 with narrow hips (Basically: NOT ME) and she also looked utterly ravishing - In fact, she's going to borrow it for her holiday to wear around the pool with a pair of shorts.

I went for a 16 in the top and it fits very true to size on me. The only thing I would say to take into consideration is that the arm holes are on the smaller side. I personally like this with the Catalina tunic as I don't like when an arm hole hangs lower than the side of my bra on looser tops. However, I know for a lot of women this can be pretty frustrating - so maybe size up.

Polly Grace have a huge range of plus size clothing, with many items going from a 16 - 32, as well as accessories and jewellery, such as the gorgeous Tula necklace below:

In fact, I also have a pair of Polly Grace's black leggings which are fab so expect to see them featuring on here very shortly!

Sun, Sea and Seaspray Swimwear

I hear that there's a heatwave in the UK. I'm not witnessing that first hand because I am actually in Spain which is prrrrretty frustrating because I didn't spend all my dosh on a holiday for you lot to be swanning about in basically the same temperature. I'll let it go this time (mostly because I'm eating crisps for breakfast and you're probably not so I'm winning).

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

HELLO black halter-tie tummy control bikini. I was sent this gorgeous little number by Seaspray Swimwear who aim to provide fashion forward swimwear for every body shape and requirement.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

The bikini features a halter-neck braand  draped briefs which are a work of genius! They can be adjusted every which way to suit your needs - I'm wearing them half rolled down to give a 50s shape but they can be worn higher, as a skirt or even pulled all the way up to give the appearance of a full swimsuit.

There's a definite vintage glamour feel to this bikini which really floats my boat. As for how I feel wearing it: This year, I have slightly more chub than I'm used to. I have no beef with this as I am still able to do all the same things that I could last year (Other than do knee slides on the marble floor but that's a lifestyle choice rather than chub related...) and I'm not one for wasting quality holiday time on what other people may or may not think of MY body.

Despite all this, I have felt that I would like a little more control around the midriff, which these briefs offer without squishing the paella right out of me. There's no shame in wanting to feel glorious in what you're wearing and Seaspray seem to really get that. I'm wearing a 16 in the bikini which I have found to be true to size.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

The only minor criticism I have with the bikini is that the top doesn't offer quite as much support as I would like - I have a broad chest and benefit from a bit of a boost. Saying that, the padded cups do give a lovely smooth shape and if you have boobs which go out rather than across this shouldn't be an issue at all.

Leaving you with a cheeky back view here - YES, I have folds, they're lovely aren't they? Sometimes I find things in them.

Seaspray design swimsuits, bikinis, pareos and kaftans inspired by luxury destinations around the world. Most items are available in sizes 10-20.

Baby We Were Born to Run - The Yours Clothing Acid Wash Playsuit

An extremely quick post for you here courtesy of some of my parents' garden and a very begrudging paternal photographer...

Jumpsuits and playsuits: You KNOW I love me an outfit that I can flail about in and this Acid wash denim playsuit* from Yours clothing is absolutely no exception.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk
Acid Wash Denim Playsuit - Yours
Turquoise Necklace - Yours
 Sleeveless Waterfall Waistcoat - Yours
Gladiator Sandals - Yours

I first saw it at the SS15 launch and knew that people would totally and utterly lose their shit over it because it's just so COOL. I described it as being like the right kind of an 80s throwback. Think Springsteen not Hawkes (who I have beef with but that's a story for another day...). This meant that when Yours sent me the playsuit to try I had it on my body within about 2.5 seconds.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

The denim is light and and OH so soft. This is a playsuit made for comfort, frolicking and warmer climes.

The playsuit fastens with presstuds and a drawstring waistband which add to the light and non constrictive feel of it. I'm wearing a 16 here and despite my Grace Jones thighs of power, there are plenty of room in the legs and waist without being too big.

I'm wearing the playsuit here with the sleeveless waterfall waistcoat*, black gladiator sandals* and turquoise necklace* (all from Yours because they are just THAT good).

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

The sandals are a size 9 ***REAL SIZE NINE ALERT*** and I finally know how it feels to wear sandals where 40% of my foot is not on the floor as they usually are. These are stupidly comfortable and to say that my feet are in esence just big hands on the ends of my legs, they make them look moderately inoffensive!

Not gonna lie, I've already worn the waistcoat almost every day; With a vest and jeans, over a sleeveless midi dress and with a plain white tee which made me feel a bit like a crap waiter but STILL LOOKED ACE. It's an absolute wardrobe staple for me now and had reopened the options of a number of strappy dresses which I've avoided in the past because the proportions haven't felt right.

www.terribletumbles.co.uk

I'm a big fan of a statement necklace but am REALLY bad at wearing them. I just look all self conscious like when you first put a collar on a kitten. Thankfully, this one is different and I'm on to a winner!

Prepare yourself for more holiday looks because I really need to start getting all my shizzle together and packed (by packed I mean in a pile on the floor...obviously...)
