Scantilly - Kate's saucy sister...

Not long before Christmas I was invited by Curvy Kate to something wonderful in Shoreditch ('m told that this happens less than you'd think...) (The Shoreditch bit, not curvy Kate, they're consistently wonderful).

The night was full of wine, cheese, knickers, friends, models, boobs, bums (what more could you want?!?) but the pièce de résistance was left until the end of the night... Ladies, meet Kate's sister Scantilly:

Scantilly is a new collection in D-H cups, designed for fearless women who are ready to break the rules (Like me just as soon as I've had a bath and watched silent witness...)

The set featured on the night was just magnificent. I rarely get excited by a lingerie which doesn't feature full (read huge) briefs but this just looks beautiful. I love leopard on underwear, in fact, beyond black and green, leopard is the only "colour" I allow in my lingerie drawer. It's as if Scantilly has taken all the qualities that make curvy Kate so popular (full coverage, supportive straps, wide bands) and sexed them up something chronic. I'm really really impressed.

Would you just look at Lotte? I mean, this woman could make a crisp packet look good but these pictures are just delectable. The range is out later this year and I for one am VERY excited about bringing some of the "sinful opulence" into my life.

Whilst we're on the subject of beautiful underwear and people looking beautiful in said beautiful underwear: Scantilly's lovely sister Curvy Kate are currently running their Star in a Bra competition. In fact the gorgeous Lotte above is their current title holder.

Curvy Kate are well known for featuring customer role models and promoting a positive approach to body image. They are passionate in the belief that there isn’t just one type of ‘perfect body’ - all sizes, ages, frames and heights are encouraged to enter as the brand continues to celebrate the beauty of all women. Having met quite a few of the Curvy Kate ladies, I can tell you that they are all SO different but something that they all have in common is their genuine respect, fun and desire to boost the confidence of the women they meet.

I'll leave you with one of my entry pictures which is here because I have become a massive hippy arse.

I want to look back on my life in 30 more years and be able to say that I gave everything a go and took all of the opportunities that came my way. Anyone who criticises you for having self respect and pride in who you are is more than likely a bit envious that they're not there themselves. Keep on moving upwards and if you're feeling nice, take them with you because maybe they've never heard the good, strong and positive words that you've learnt to say to yourself. So why not enter? If not now then when? And if I'm doing it, I'M TAKING YOU LOT WITH ME

I'm off to eat some quinoa and burn (eat/knit?!?) some ylang ylang now. See you in the drumming circle...

It does exactly what it says on the tin - Curvy Kate Luxe Strapless

Advance warning: I had to put a filter on these pictures because I got some chicken jalfreizi on my neck and didn't realise until it was too late because I didn't have my glasses on. Let this be a lesson in how not to blog to us all.
In this picture, I am smiling. I am smiling because I am wearing a perfect bra. This is the Curvy Kate Luxe strapless and as with all of their bras that I've tried it is FABULOUS.

I wear their daily boost every day (I just don't leave the house on wash day...) and had a ceremonial burning of the majority of my other bras when I realised just how perfect for me it is. In fact, I made a video about it which you can see on the Curvy Kate YouTube page, you can hear me talk and wave my arms about and have many, many chins
Back to the the bra in hand; The Luxe fits me in exactly the same way, I went for the 34GG which is my size in a moulded cup (I'm a wee bit/very wonky and so go for the larger cup to avoid double boob). I get full coverage, nothing over (or under) hangs, the centre fits flush against my chest and nothing rubs. Anywhere.
The most important thing about any strapless is the support that it provides. My main beef in the past has been with that slimy, sticky edging which is meant to hold the bra up but actually gets all sweaty and wet and then slides down your back and gets tangled up in your tights (that you're wearing up to your armpits in order to stop them also sliding off) and then you end up in a big messy sweaty heap and vow to never leave the house again or at the very least never, ever attempt strapless again...

WELL: That does not happen with the Luxe. It just doesn't. It is so much lighter and less constrictive than any strapless I've ever tried, yet the four hook and eye fastening means it doesn't slide up and down to where you don't want it to.
It comes with multiway straps which give excellent added support should you decide to do an office to bar dash and goes up to a J cup in some back sizes.

Finally, this bra looks GOOD. The detailing, as ever, is very classy and importantly doesn't show through even the tightest of dress. I carry most of my extra lumpy parts across my ribs and so rarely feel flattered by a supportive bra - It's one of the other: support OR sex appeal, but I don't feel like that with this one.

I JUST REALLY REALLY LIKE IT.

Keep up the good work Curvy Kate, your changing of lives and saving of boobs will not go unrewarded.
